Cosmedix Peel Facial

This peel treatment can be booked without special preparation, provided the skin is well hydrated and the skin barrier is in balance.
During your visit, the specialist always assesses your skin first. Should your skin turn out not to be suitable for this treatment (at that moment), another suitable treatment will be carried out in consultation with you.
Our Cosmedix Peel Facials are mild, skin-friendly treatments that instantly give more radiance, hydration and an even complexion — without downtime.
Ideal as an introductory peel or as a maintenance boost between more intensive treatments.
The peels are formulated with gentle, natural acids such as AHAs (lactic acid) and/or BHAs (salicylic acid), complemented by enzymes or fine manual granules that gently polish the skin.
Each peel has its own unique composition of active ingredients. The specialist carefully chooses the variant that best suits the condition and needs of your skin.
The treatment is completed with a restorative mask that instantly calms, hydrates and rebalances the skin.
The Cosmedix Peel Facial leaves the skin fresh and supple with a healthy glow — instantly visible and noticeable.
Indications for peels:

Questions about Cosmedix peels
What is a Cosmedix peel?
This is a revolutionary purification process originating from the pharmaceutical world. It is a way of using the most powerful ingredients from nature in high concentrations.
A combination of high doses of acids, including those below, provides deep exfoliation and renewal of the skin.
- L-Lactic
- L-Mandelic
- D-Glucuronic
- Salicylic Acid
- Encapsulated retinol
What precautions should I take before a Cosmedix peel?
- We advise avoiding the sun, sunbeds and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks before the treatment.
Even so, you should still use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or 50.
Reapply every 2 hours if the skin is exposed to sunlight. - For darker skin (skin type III and up), we advise using a pigment-suppressing cream for at least 2 weeks before the treatment. This is available at our institute.
- Stop using topical antibiotics, vitamin A acid (tretinoin) or benzoyl peroxide 1 week before the treatment.
- If you frequently get cold sores, it is advisable to start a preventive course such as aciclovir or L-lysine before the treatment.
Your GP can prescribe it, or you can buy it at the pharmacy. If you have a cold sore, no treatment will take place and you will need to reschedule your appointment. - No waxing may be carried out in the area to be treated for 2 weeks before the peel treatment.
- Please do not shave the area to be treated on the day of the treatment, to avoid irritation. If necessary, do this 48 hours beforehand.
- Some medications make the skin more sensitive and vulnerable. If you use or change medication, or are ill, we would like to be informed before the treatment.
Why is it important to prepare your skin properly and follow the right aftercare with a Cosmedix peel treatment?
The skin needs to be brought into good condition and prepared for a powerful peel treatment. This allows us to achieve excellent results in a safe and careful way. After a peel, your skin is more susceptible to UV radiation, so you are more likely to develop pigmentation or sun damage. With the skincare we recommend, you maintain the result of the peel and enjoy the skin-improving effect for longer.
Depending on the type of peel, you will start using the recommended home-care products before the treatment. The same applies after the treatment. It’s all about a Glam Skin!
It is important to follow the advice of the Glam Skin beautician carefully.
Would you rather not purchase products for home use or follow further advice? Then a peel at our institute is unfortunately not suitable for you.
You can, however, book another skincare facial from our treatment menu.
What is the recovery period after a Cosmedix peel treatment?
There may be some downtime during the first few days, with some flaking and peeling of the skin and an uncomfortable feeling.
How your skin reacts depends on your skin type and the concern being treated.
- Redness is a common reaction and the skin may feel hot and tight. Oedema and swelling can also be side effects. This feeling often subsides within a few hours.
- Depending on the intensity of the peel, the skin may start to flake; this is a sign that the skin is renewing itself. Peeling will begin on day 2 or 3 and lasts 4 to 7 days on average. Peeling is the desired reaction resulting from accelerated cell division.
- With some peels the skin first becomes darker, but this disappears again after flaking/peeling.
- The skin may be extra sensitive in the first week after the peel.
- The recovery process takes about 1 week on average after each treatment. Our institute has the right products available for purchase, so you can give your skin the best aftercare at home.
What are the contraindications for a Cosmedix peel treatment?

- Presence of herpes simplex (cold sores) in the area to be treated
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding

- Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
