Since 2008, as a beauty salon in Enschede, we have used professional Lycon wax for all our waxing treatments — by now almost eighteen years of daily practice with this brand. What is the difference between the professional wax you use in the salon and the Wax-cellence Home Waxing Kit?
The formula is largely comparable — both are Lycon wax from the same Australian production facility — but the professional wax requires equipment and technique that take years of experience to master in a salon. The home kits are designed for easy use at home, with an adapted consistency, narrower temperature margins and clear instructions. For large or sensitive areas we always recommend a salon treatment; for touching up small areas in between, the home kit can be a fine addition.
When should I start scrubbing and using Ingrown-X-it after a waxing treatment?
We advise doing nothing for the first 24 to 48 hours after a waxing treatment except letting the skin settle. From day three you can start using the Ingrown-X-it Solution Spray on larger areas or the Cream on smaller areas — two to three times a week is usually enough. Only start scrubbing after five to seven days, and then use a sugar scrub once or twice a week. This combination prevents ingrown hairs and keeps the skin smooth until your next appointment.
I have ingrown hairs on both my legs and bikini line. Do I need to buy both the Cream and the Spray?
For most clients the Solution Spray is sufficient for both areas — it is expressly designed for larger surfaces, and the spray format is efficient for legs. The Cream is really a spot treatment for small, stubborn spots or for the face and intimate area, where a spray is less practical. If in doubt, we are happy to discuss it via WhatsApp based on your specific areas.
Are the Pinkini products for the intimate area safe to use myself?
Yes, the Pinkini line is specifically developed for the intimate area, with formulas that respect this sensitive skin. The Pinkini Lightening Serum works on differences in pigmentation that are present after years of waxing or naturally. We do advise always following the instructions first, starting small and stopping if irritation persists. Can I use Lyco-Bronze self-tanner after a waxing treatment or scrub?
The same rule applies to Lyco-Bronze as to most self-tanners: apply it to clean, smooth and dry skin, at least 24 hours after a waxing treatment and after a thorough scrub. The combination works excellently — a sugar scrub prepares the skin for an even result, and the Lycon formula does not develop patchily the way cheaper self-tanners sometimes can. Do avoid showering on the first day after application, and do not scrub the treated areas until you want to tan again.
